Abstract

The design method and design criteria for low noise gear were introduced. Based on the analysis of gear modification principle, determination of basic parameters and the design of modification scheme, taking SS8- II type quasi- high speed passenger electric locomotive gear transmission as a studying example, the gear tooth profile modification and axial modification were designed. Through the noise detection, it was found that under the same conditions, the driving device noise sound level A can reduce the 6~10dB after modifying. It achieved better noise reduction effect, which can provide reference for the design of low noise gear. It has important value for engineering practice.
