- Abstract
Language ability has become the critical link and key aspect of The Belt and Road Construction. Language will by no means be the significant safeguard for The Belt and Road. Adult foreign language education possesses its own advantages in the Belt and Road construction. It proves to be the inevitable complements to campus foreign education. This paper analyzes the current situations and problems of adult foreign language education. This paper claims that adult foreign language education should be carried out under the macro language policies, following a two-way direction, with the demand of multi-lingual, integral talents as its orientation. The rules of adult language study should be followed and leaners’ cross-cultural awareness should be especially emphasized. Universities and companies could cooperate to provide various channels to train the desired talents. We should adopt two-way thinking and strive to promote Chinese and Chinese culture for the adults in countries along the Belt and Road. The relevant religions and cultures of the relevant countries should be respected in adult foreign language education so as to make China and surrounding countries to grow and prosper together.
