Abstract

The national common language and characters, as the foundation relied upon for national governance and ethnic identity, their promotion and popularization are not only regarded as a key manifestation of language and character policies but also the core of the country's progress towards modernization. From a historical perspective with a unique viewpoint, the promotion process is systematically sorted out, and an in-depth discussion is conducted on the internal logic covering aspects such as political unification, cultural identity, and social modernization. This article, in the context of various issues such as regional differences, effective protection of dialects, and educational equity, conducts a comprehensive and detailed analysis of the crucial role of education in language promotion. The author believes that in the contemporary language education perspective, language education workers in China country should construct an educational strategy featuring stratification, specialization, and phased development, thereby establishing a language education system that can cover both urban and rural areas, take into account the actual conditions of all ethnic groups, and achieve the integration of tradition and modernity, so as to achieve the important goal of coordinated and steady progress of the national language strategy.
