Abstract

A generalized MSSOR method (GMSSOR) is presented for solving large sparse augmented linear systems by introducing a new parameter in MSSOR method, which is an extension of MSSOR method and SOR method. The convergence of GMSSOR method is studied and it is proved that the convergence rate of GMSSOR method is faster than that of MSSOR method by choosing suitable parameter . A numerical example is given to show that this method is effective.
