The International Symposium of Southeast Asia Vegetable (SEAVEG) 2021, held on November 18 to 20, 2021, in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, was attended by more than 200 participants from all over the world on-site and online. The fifth in the pace-setting series of SEAVEG 2021 highlighted new technologies and approaches to vegetables for resilience and a healthy diet. This conference was an essential forum for exchanging information and research results among researchers, practitioners, governments, and private sectors. This conference strengthened cooperation and relationships between SEAVEG members, resulting in more joint research projects. Of all the participants, 108 submitted their manuscripts to the committee, and 63 of them were proposed for publication to Atlantis Press.

We would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to the keynote speakers: Prof. Dr. Ir. Dedi Nursyamsi, M.Agr, Director General of the Indonesian Agency of Agricultural Extension and Human Resources Development (IAAEHRD); Dr. Prem Nath, Chairman of the Agricultural Science Foundation, India; Dr. Marco Wopereis, Director General of the World Vegetable Center, Taiwan. We would also like to thank our invited speakers: Prof. Michael Boehme from the Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany; Dr. Anupam Varma, Emeritus Professor from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi; Dr. P G Chengappa, National Professor from ICAR, New Delhi; Prof. Stefaan De Neve from Ghent University, Belgium; and Dr. Joao Silva Dias from Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal.

Last but not least, we humbly thank Director of Agricultural Development Polytechnic of Yogyakarta-Magelang, all the vice directors, and all committee members for their ongoing hard work in supporting the SEAVEG 2021. We look forward to seeing you at the next SEAVEG.
