Abstract

Vocabulary is the foundation of a language, and vocabulary learning is the most important part of language learning. For a language learner, the size of vocabulary directly affects his comprehensive English ability. Quite a few students are not very good at English learning and expression, which is actually caused by the lack of vocabulary. However, in the process of English vocabulary learning, learners often show such behaviors such as fear, avoidance and even boredom. The author refers to these behaviors as the anxiety phenomenon caused by vocabulary learning. Starting from the anxiety problems faced by students in vocabulary learning, this paper attempts to analyze the causes of vocabulary learning anxiety from the perspective of the students, and then summarize effective vocabulary learning methods in the teaching process, so as to improve students’ vocabulary learning efficiency.
