Abstract

Ambiguity in English is a phenomenon, which, for a variety of reasons, is very complicated. The paper's intention is to analyze how ambiguity may have its origins in phonetics and lexis. The ensuing commentary thus contributes towards avoiding possible misunderstanding caused by ambiguity in communication.
