Abstract

Locke was a famous Philosopher and thinker in England in the 17th century. His educational work, “A Rambler on Education”, was aimed at educating the children of the rich in the upper class, which reflected a kind of educational view representing the emerging bourgeoisie in the Renaissance period of Europe. Locke not only had profound attainments in medicine and natural science, but also had rich experience in family education. The book was written in response to his relative Edward. Crock’s request, guidance on the education of his son, and correspondence with him for several years. Locke taught and exchanged his thoughts on education with Clark. After receiving suggestions from his friends, Locke compiled the letters and published them officially in 1693 as An Educational Ramble. Locke’s Educational Ramble is rich in content and very classic, especially the health education and moral education in it have a strong enlightenment significance for us to do a good job in family education.
