The 2026 5th International Conference on Educational Innovation and Multimedia Technology (EIMT 2026) was successfully held in Lanzhou, China, from March 27 to 29, 2026. The conference brought together researchers, educators, and practitioners to share recent advances and discuss emerging challenges in the integration of educational innovation and multimedia technologies.

The conference featured three distinguished keynote speakers. Prof. Yanjie Song from The Education University of Hong Kong explored AI-powered immersive learning environments and their role in advancing pedagogical innovation. Assoc. Prof. Daiping Duan of Lanzhou University addressed the integration of artificial intelligence in classroom instructional design, while Assoc. Prof. Guoqing Lu from Northwest Normal University presented on the use of GenAI-assisted feedback in collaborative inquiry. Together with the oral presentation sessions, these contributions fostered a rich and diverse academic exchange, highlighting both theoretical developments and practical applications.

The scope of EIMT 2026 covered a broad range of topics in educational innovation and multimedia technology, including blended and online learning, virtual and distance education, educational data analysis, instructional design, and educational software development. The conference also emphasized emerging technologies such as AI-driven education, educational games and simulations, as well as advancements in software and system engineering, image processing, encryption, blockchain in education, and modeling and simulation, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of the field.

A total of 162 submissions were received, and 64 papers were accepted after a rigorous peer-review process. The conference attracted over 100 participants, providing an active platform for academic communication and collaboration.
