Abstract

The following paper is devoted to the study of semantic word formation problem in the nomination theory. Onomastic derivatives are the empirical material of the study. The research hypothesis questions is whether proper names can transfer to the category of words combining the nominative function with the connotative one or not. Currently, it is possible to break up the collected empirical material into four groups. The results of the research can be used in the study of linguistics - word formation, to be precise.
