Abstract

The purpose of this article is to find the right steps or strategies to build the character of children in accordance with the identity of the Indonesian nation. The method used is the art education approach, through the teaching of traditional dance in the community with peer tutoring models. This study provides evidence that teaching traditional dance through peer tutoring models can build character in children. Therefore, through a community of peers’ interaction, children will continue to interact with friends and the surrounding environment. Moreover, helping children to build their social souls and quickly understand their culture.
