- Abstract
Final-year students often face challenges in completing their final projects, where self-efficacy becomes an important factor influencing success. The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is suspected to play a role in enhancing students’ self-efficacy. This study aims to determine the relationship between the use of AI and self-efficacy in the completion of final projects among final-year students. This study uses correlational quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 148 final-year students from Politeknik Negeri Subang, selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments consisted of an AI usage questionnaire and the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE). Data analysis was conducted using the Spearman Rank correlation test. Results: No significant relationship was found between AI usage and self-efficacy (p-value = 0.705). The use of AI has not yet been proven to directly increase students’ self-efficacy. Students are advised to use AI wisely. Further research needs to explore other factors and use mixed or longitudinal methods for a more comprehensive understanding.
