Abstract

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a powerful tool for architecture, engineering and construction industry. Nowadays, it is widely used in the world. This paper first introduced the development of the design tools, generally three stages, from pen and paper to 3D design with information. Then illustrates the BIM application situations in different countries in the world. At last draw a conclusion that the development of BIM in the world is optimistic.
