- Abstract
Cognitive processes in decision-making have long been a subject of interest in cognitive science, psychology, and neuroscience. Decision-making involves several psychological mechanisms, such as judgment, perception, memory, and attention. This paper explores the cognitive models used to understand decision-making and investigates how biases and heuristics affect decisionout-comes.Thepaperalsopresentsempiricalresultsfromaseries of experiments conducted to better understand these cognitive processes. Findings suggest that cognitive biases play a significant role in decision- making, often leading individuals to make suboptimal choices. The paper concludes by offering implications for improving decision- making in real- world contexts.
