Abstract

Muslim-friendly tourism is a type of tourism that meets the specific cultural and religious needs of Muslim travelers. In recent years, this form of tourism has increasingly become an important segment of the global tourism industry, attracting the attention of many countries. In response to the rapidly growing demand for tourism from the global Muslim community, numerous nations have actively integrated this type of tourism into their sustainable development strategies to optimize economic benefits, while also promoting cultural diversity and inclusive tourism development. Vietnam is considered an attractive destination with rapid growth and great potential for developing Muslim-friendly tourism. However, this segment has not yet been systematically or comprehensively developed. This paper focuses on analyzing the potential for Muslim-friendly tourism development in Vietnam, identifying the challenges the tourism industry faces in approaching and serving Muslim visitors, and subsequently proposing policy solutions, the establishment of a specialized legal framework, and intersectoral coordination strategies to foster the growth of this tourism segment in line with the national sustainable development goals.
