- Abstract
The middle-income trap poses a significant challenge to developing nations, including Vietnam. This article focuses on analyzing the theoretical underpinnings of the middle-income trap, identifying the development barriers in Vietnam’s economy, and synthesizing experiences from five exemplary countries: South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. Based on this foundation, the paper proposes a system of practical, strategic, and long-term solutions aimed at helping Vietnam transform its growth model, enhance productivity, develop human resources, reform institutions, and foster innovation. These solutions target the goal of Vietnam becoming a high-income country by 2045.
