- Abstract
This paper delves into the complex relationship between education, culture, and diversity within globalized contexts. It examines the role of intercultural education in fostering inclusive societies and addressing the challenges posed by heterogeneous student populations. The study highlights the principles enshrined in the UNESCO Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination in Education (1960) and analyzes its implications for educational systems worldwide. It explores the tensions between equality and diversity, suggesting that intercultural education offers a platform for addressing these challenges. By examining various case studies and theoretical frameworks, the paper proposes effective strategies for promoting cultural understanding, respect, and integration within educational systems, thereby contributing to the development of more equitable and harmonious societies.
