Abstract

Bà Đen Mountain is located in Bình Minh Ward, Tây Ninh Province. With an elevation of 986 meters, regarded as the highest peak in Southern Vietnam. It is simultaneously a “sacred landscape” where spiritual tourism has developed. Since 2020, when Sun Group officially invested in and commenced tourism operations in the Bà Đen Mountain area, the local economy, cultural and social life has undergone significant positive transformations. Nevertheless, the area still face numerous issues that challenge long-term sustainable development. Employing ethnographic fieldwork, comparative statistical methods, and documentary analysis and synthesis as the principal research approaches, elucidates the following: an analysis of the anal economic - cultural - social value chain of the Bà Đen Mountain area; an examination of the community’s role in promoting the area’s sustainable development; an identification of existing limitations that have challenged sustainability; and a set of proposed solutions to advance the sustainable development of the economic - cultural - social value chain in the Bà Đen Mountain area, grounded in the application of community education.
