Proceedings of the International Conference of Early Childhood Education (ICECE 2017)

The 4rd International Conference on Early Childhood Education (ICECE 2017) was held on October 10th-11th, 2017, at Pangeran Beach Padang, Indonesia. The aim of ICECE-17 is to provide a common platform for educators, researchers, students and practitioners to share and discuss critical issues on early childhood education from multidiscipline point of view in global world era. It is also an event to gather the scientists, educational and medical experts, kindergarten teachers, students, and educational practitioners in scientific forum.

The theme of this conference is “Critical Issues of Early Childhood Education from Multidisciplinary Point of View in Global World Era.” The presenters are given choices to present paper with the sub-theme: (1) Early Childhood Development, (2) Counseling and Guidance for Early Childhood, (3) Technology and Digital Learning for Early Childhood Development, (4) Early Childhood Curriculum and Material Development, (5) Art and Creativity for Early Childhood, (6) Health and Nutrition for Early Childhood, (7) Special Need Education for Early Years Institution, (8) Early Childhood Language and Multicultural, (9) Parenting Program for Early Childhood in Non Formal Childhood Education, (10) Management of Early Years Institution.

The Conference is organized by Faculty of Education Universitas Negeri Padang, Indonesia. On behalf of the committee, we would like to express our great appreciation to all keynote and plennary speakers Prof. Branislav Pupala, Ph. D. (Trnava University, Slovakia), Prof. Dr. Prayitno, M.Sc. Ed, (Universitas Negeri Padang, Indonesia), Assoc. Prof. Ikuyo Wakayama (Toyama University, Japan), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Johari bin Sihes (University Technology Malaysia, Malaysia), Kanokporn Vibulpatanavong, Ph. D. (Srinakharinwirot University, Thailand) for sharing valuable knowledge. We also would like to thank the Rector of Universitas Negeri Padang, Prof. Ganefri, M.Pd., Ph.D., Dean of Faculty of Education, Dr. Alwen Bentri, M.Pd. for their great support this conference.


The Conference received 200 manuscripts, of which 78 submissions were accepted by our reviewers. The papers included into this collection underwent a careful peer-review by the team of experts, prior to being selected for the publication. The Committees of ICECE 2017 invest great efforts in reviewing the papers submitted to the Conference and in organizing the sessions to enable its participants to gain the maximum benefit.


We would like to thank the Organization Staff, members of the Committees and the Reviewers. They worked very hard in reviewing papers and making valuable suggestions for the contributors to improve their work.
