Abstract
This article deals with the issue of teacher professional development (TPD) and discusses its concept, practices and conflicts between various aspects in TPD such as the institution, the teaching context and the individual teacher. The essay intends to draw attention to the potential problems in promoting TPD and encourage the discussion about some possible solutions.
