Abstract

This study explores the integration of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) principles into the organizational culture of a public senior high school in Indonesia, aiming to establish a sustainable, quality-oriented school environment. The central problem addressed is the inconsistency of quality initiatives that fail to generate long-term cultural impact in areas such as learning outcomes, administrative efficiency, and teacher collaboration. Adopting a qualitative case study methodology, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with school leaders, teachers, and administrative staff, along with document analysis of school performance reports before and after LSS implementation. The DMAIC framework served as the core intervention model, emphasizing the identification of internal process inefficiencies and alignment with school values. The findings reveal that LSS tools such as SIPOC mapping and root cause analysis effectively visualized performance gaps and fostered a common language for improvement. Furthermore, the introduction of routine reflection cycles and data-driven decision-making encouraged a shift toward continuous improvement and shared accountability. Cultural transformation was most evident in increased teacher engagement, consistent classroom monitoring, and reduced administrative redundancy. This study concludes that LSS can be adapted in educational settings not only as a process improvement methodology but also as a catalyst for reshaping organizational culture. Key recommendations include developing educator-centered LSS training programs, embedding cultural metrics into quality dashboards, and involving student representatives in improvement teams to foster inclusive ownership.
