- Abstract
This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the differentiated learning approach using the ICARE model in improving mathematical problem-solving skills on the topic of plane figures in fifth grade elementary school. The method used is quantitative with a pre-experimental design of the One-Group Pretest-Posttest type, in which students undergo tests before and after learning to measure the development of their problem-solving skills. All fifth-grade students were included as the sample in this research. Data were collected through the administration of pre- and post-tests, then analyzed using prerequisite tests (normality and homogeneity tests) and hypothesis tests (N-gain test and t-test). The results of the study indicate that the collaboration between differentiated learning and the ICARE model has a positive impact and is proven to be effective in improving students’ problem-solving skills. This is demonstrated through students’ active involvement in the learning process, improved understanding of mathematical concepts, and the ability to apply knowledge to solve real-world problems.
