Website: https://ic-ichess.org/ The 2025 8th International Conference on Humanities Education and Social Sciences (ICHESS 2025) was successfully held from December 19 to 21, 2025, in Xi'an, China. As the eighth edition of the ICHESS conference series, the conference continued to provide an international academic forum for scholars, educators, and researchers to exchange research findings and engage in in-depth discussions on current issues and emerging trends in humanities education and social sciences. The conference program comprised keynote speeches and oral presentation sessions, which together contributed to a comprehensive academic exchange environment. Four keynote speeches were delivered by Prof. Jian Wang (China University of Petroleum, East China, China), Prof. Ming Chen (University of South China, China), Prof. Seevan Saeed (Shaanxi Normal University, China), and Assoc. Prof. Pin Li (Xi'an University of Science and Technology, China). Their presentations addressed important theoretical perspectives and practical considerations within humanities and social sciences, offering insights that stimulated academic discussion and interdisciplinary reflection. In addition, the oral presentation sessions provided authors with opportunities to present their latest research outcomes, exchange viewpoints with peers, and receive constructive feedback, further enriching the academic interactions of the conference. ICHESS 2025 covered a wide range of research topics reflecting the interdisciplinary nature and increasing complexity of humanities and social sciences. The conference discussions encompassed studies in humanities and anthropology, human development based on psychological and social concepts, social and evolutionary complexity, human rights, law and justice, and human–environment interactions. Moreover, significant attention was given to the intersections of innovation, technology, and society, including social computing, social media, social network analysis, socio-cognitive-technological systems, learning and behavioral modeling, and knowledge management within the knowledge economy. Topics related to international relations, journalism, social work, organizational and social networks further demonstrated the conference's emphasis on addressing societal challenges through interdisciplinary and integrative research approaches. The conference attracted more than 200 participants from universities and research institutions across different countries and regions. A total of 319 manuscripts were submitted to ICHESS 2025, and after a rigorous peer-review process, 142 papers were accepted for publication in these proceedings. Each submission was evaluated by at least two independent reviewers based on criteria such as originality, academic quality, relevance, and clarity. The selected papers represent recent research progress and ongoing scholarly efforts in the fields of humanities education and social sciences. The organizing committee would like to express their sincere appreciation to the keynote speakers, reviewers, organizing committee members, and all contributing authors for their valuable support and contributions. It is hoped that this volume will serve as a meaningful reference for researchers and practitioners and promote further academic exchange and collaboration in humanities education and social sciences.
