The present volume contains selected papers of the International Conference on Islamic Studies (ICIE) held on March 28-30, 2018 in West Java Indonesia. The conference organized by Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung and supported by Perkumpulan Sarjana Pendidikan Islam Indonesia (PSPII) places emphasis on deliberating Islamic Education and its Challenges in the Digital Age. It had successfully invited almost 200 hundreds researchers and practitioners to send their abstracts. There were about 120 abstracts reviewed, and 90 abstracts were selected and then presented in the conference.
The scope of the conference had made participants enthusiastically submit their full paper. There are 56 papers selected to be published in Atlantis Press Conference Series Proceedings (indexed by SCOPUS). Almost all topics of the paper are relevant to the scopes of the conference: Islamic Education Foundation, Islamic Education Institutionalization, Islamic Education Professionalism. Islamic Education Curriculum, Utilization and Development of Learning Resources, Islamic Education Milieu, Research on Islamic Education, Fundamental/General Issues on Islamic Education. For reviewing process, the researchers from other universities and countries are involved, since reviewing is the most crucial part for publication. Moreover, it is a challenging job to do, indeed.
Regarding the publication, appreciations and thanks go to all publication teams that had devoted their time, constant support for making this publication possible. The 2018 ICIE Proceeding is dedicated to all: the readers, the team, the faculty, and UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung who commomerate the 50th Dies Natalis (Anniversary).
