The Effect of Using Animated Media Films and Entering Behavior to Narrative Writing Skill in Indonesian Language Learning Class V

Abstract

This research is motivated by students having difficulty in writing narrative and low value obtained by students in writing narration. For that, need a new breakthrough in learning to write narrative that is by using media of animated movie learning. The purpose of this research is to get information about the influence of animation film usage and entering behavior to narrative writing skill in grade V students of Elementary School 11 Kurao Pagang. This type of research is quasy experiment. The population is all students of class V consisting of 2 classes with 40 people. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique. Research data were collected using entering behavior tests and narrative writing skills tests. Data analysis techniques used in the form of normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing on aspects to be studied. The result of the research shows that: (1) narrative writing skill in students whose learning using animated film media is higher than narrative writing skill in students whose learning using serial image with tcount = 2,486 and significance level is 0.05 (ttable = 1.68 ); (2) narrative writing skill in students with high entering behavior whose learning using animated film media is higher than narrative writing skill in students with high entering behavior as well as learning using series drawing media with tcount = 1,838 and significance level of 0.05 (ttable = 1.72); (3) narrative writing skills in students with low entering behavior whose learning using animated film media is higher than the narrative writing skills of students with low entering behavior whose learning uses the serial drawing media with tcount = 1.829 and a significance level of 0.05 (ttable = 1.72); and (4) there is no significant interaction between entering behavior and animated film media on narrative writing skill with Fcount = 0,345 and significance level is 0.05 (Ftabel = 4,11). Based on the research, it can be concluded that there is influence of animated film media and entering behavior on narrative writing skill in grade V students of Elementary School 11 Kurao Pagang. The recommendation of this research is the animated film media can be proposed as the rationale that the animated film media and entering behavior is a factor that can improve narrative writing skills.
