Abstract

Purpose: To investigate and understand the satisfaction and awareness of physical education among college students in Guangzhou during the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia. Methods: Using mathematical statistics, a survey of 1,056 students in some universities in Guangzhou was conducted. Results: In the satisfaction survey, the top three columns are: physical education teachers’ teaching ability, with an average score of 4.51±0.72; teaching atmosphere and content, with an average score of 4.46±0.72; physical education class performance evaluation, 4.41±0.78. In sports awareness, the three items of sports identity, sports responsibilities and obligations, and sports rights are relatively high, which are 4.48±0.74, 4.21±0.87, and 4.19±0.87 respectively. College students generally agree with the importance of physical education. There is a certain difference in physical education class satisfaction in terms of gender. Analyze the relationship between college students’ sports class satisfaction and college students’ sports awareness, where: r=0.773, P=0.001 shows a positive correlation trend. Father’s physical health, residence and personal physical health are the main factors affecting college students’ physical education satisfaction. Personal physical condition, gender and place of residence are the main factors affecting college students’ sports awareness. Recommendations: The author recommends starting from the four levels of individuals, families, teachers, and schools to promote the improvement of college students’ satisfaction with physical education, improve their sports awareness, and help college students develop exercise habits during the epidemic, laying a foundation for lifelong physical education and health China makes its own contribution.
