This proceeding constitutes a collection of edited papers presented at the 4th International Conference on Language, Literature, Culture and Education (ICOLLITE 2020) with the main theme “Multiliteracies, Multiculture, and Lingua Franca: Contemporary perspectives in language and literature studies”, held and organized by the Faculty of Language and Literature Education of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia on August 31, 2020. The conference, in particular, aimed to provide an excellent opportunity for researchers, lecturers, school teachers, and post-graduate students to disseminate and share their experiences, ideas, and visions; contribute the latest and exciting innovations in a broad coverage of language, literature, and culture scholarship, teaching implementation and policy, particularly in the context of multi-literacy, multi-culture, and lingua franca. Thus, as rejoiced in the conference, the themes of this proceeding cover a broad array of empirical research that develops theoretical and conceptual insights into language, literature, culture, and education from contemporary perspectives.
We hope that this proceeding will furnish linguists, language educators and culture experts with an excellent reference book to enrich their knowledge and broaden their perspectives on the field of literacy, culture, and technology in the language pedagogy.
We wish to convey our profound appreciation to all keynote speakers, invited speakers, plenary speakers, and all presenters from Indonesian and overseas universities for accepting our invitation and for sharing their ideas during the conference. We thank the advisory board members for providing their support, and the organizing committee members for their serious commitment, dedication, and hard work to make this conference happen. We would also like to extend our gratitude to reviewers for their time, dedication, and efforts in reviewing the papers. We hope that future ICOLLITE will stimulate more contributions to the field of literacy, culture, and technology in the language pedagogy.
