Abstract

The decline of moral values among elementary school students in the digital era demands the active role of educational institutions in strengthening character education. This study aims to examine the core values, implementation strategies by educators, and the impact of character education in modern elementary schools. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) adapting the PRISMA reporting guidelines. A total of 38 scientific articles published between 2022 and 2026 were comprehensively analyzed. The review results indicate five dominant values instilled in elementary schools: responsibility, discipline, honesty, cooperation, and empathy. The implementation of these values is most effectively carried out through daily habituation, integration into learning activities, extracurricular programs, and modeling by educators. The success of character education heavily relies on a paradigm shift toward a student-centered approach. This structured implementation is proven to have a significant positive impact, not only in improving morals, ethics, and social empathy but also in fostering holistic personality development and motivating the cognitive growth of students.
