Abstract

Water is a very important component for the survival of beings on earth. However, not all humans utilize water resources well to realize life well-being. There are several issues related to water resources in this decade, such as privatization and commercialization. Water resources that should belong to the general public move to the hands of certain people only so that it affects the scarcity of water among surrounding communities. This study aims to review how the management of water resources in accordance with the values and norms in Al-Quran and As-Sunnah. Variety of water resources management is certainly allowed origin in order to meet the needs of the community. This study is a conceptual paper that examines how should the management of water resources in Indonesia in terms of business ethics according to Islam. Islam is the religion of rahmatan lilalamin which strictly prohibits all forms of mudharat and activities that bring mudharat. Therefore, water resources that are part of the determinants of human survival need to be managed to achieve the benefit of the people.
