Abstract

The main problem in this paper is related to the many national issues faced by the Indonesian people; especially social conflict; due to differences in religion; ethnicity; and race. The purpose of this study is to reveal the importance of multicultural education in increasing national awareness. This research is a library research study. Qualitative research methods are often called naturalistic because the research is done in natural conditions (Natural Setting). The primary sources of this research are books and other literature relating to multicultural education. The research found that multicultural education is needed to increase national awareness.
