Proceedings of the 2019 5th International Conference on Social Science and Higher Education (ICSSHE 2019)
It is a great pleasure to introduce the proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Social Science and Higher Education (ICSSHE 19), which was held on August 23-25, 2019 in Xiamen, China and organized by Xiamen University Tan Kah Kee College, Hainan University and Sanya University. The ICSSHE theme in 2019 is “The Problem and Opportunity of Higher Education and Social Science Development”. ICSSHE-19 attracted attendees from more than 8 countries. It was praised for the richness of its social networking and was widely recognized for its continuous adaptation to emerging hot topics, attracting numerous education and social science players.
In recent years, with the rapid development of the economy, the whole society and the soaring demand of the education, more and more researchers in different fields have begun to make studies on some new ideas and methods related to social science and higher education. ICSSHE 19 provides an ideal opportunity for academic scientists, industry researchers and students to share views and experiences in education studies and related areas, and discuss the practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted. All the relevant and original manuscripts describing an idea or concept, addressing issues and problems are appreciated. In the meantime, prospective authors who are interested in the fields submitted their up-to-date research manuscripts to the conference so as to share their valuable experience with the leading researchers and scholars around the world.
During the calling for papers and invitations, the organizing committee received 645 manuscripts from different countries and regions, such as Russia, the United Kingdom, Taiwan, Hong Kong, USA and Mainland of China, etc. After a rigorous review where each paper was peer-reviewed by 2-3 reviewers, 274 papers were accepted on the basis of originality, significance, and clarity for the purpose of the conference, and the authors have been invited to present their papers on the conference by oral and poster presentation. In addition, three keynote speakers delivered their latest research progress, who are recognized as leading experts in their own research areas. Hopefully, all participants benefit scientifically and also find encouragement in the process.
The proceeding is published by Atlantis Press(www.atlantis-press.com) and will be submitted to the CPCI and Google Scholar index. Last but not least, we would like to express our deep appreciation and gratitude to all the conference chairs and paper reviewers for their endeavors that make the paper reviewing and publication efficiently available. In addition, we look forward to your attention and support to the 6th ICSSHE in the year 2020.
