Proceedings of the International Conference of Innovation in Media and Visual Design (IMDES 2020)

These proceedings comprise papers presented at International Conference of Innovation in Media and Visual Design (IMDES), held in Tangerang, Indonesia, November 10 - 11, 2020 (online). The IMDES offers vast exchange possibilities to researchers, practitioners, academics, and design professionals. This conference is a sphere for those intellectuals who examine the conceptual design, praxis, and research discourse on the exploration of academic merits for the design field. The purpose of the conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners who have worked on or thought about design, technology, mass media, and people from a variety of perspectives, disciplines, and fields.

The four keynote speakers were Dr. Ruslan Abdul Rahim (Professor and Dean, Faculty of Art & Design, Universitas Teknologi MARA – UiTM, Malaysia), Dr. Ninok Leksono (Rector, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, Indonesia), Dr. Dwinita Larasati (Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Art and Design, Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia), and Adi Panuntun (CEO and Creative Head, Sembilan Matahari, Indonesia).

The conference interdisciplinary approach draws on research that provides all aspects of the design process to increase our understanding of the field of design theory, praxis, and methodology. Prior to being accepted for publication in these proceedings, each contributed paper was refereed. The papers were accepted for publication based on their interest, relevance to the conference scope, innovation, and application to the design research and practice.

We are now full of hope about getting the proceedings of IMDES 2020 covered by CPCI Web of Science (WoS) in due course. We highly appreciate that the authors of IMDES 2020 may want to maximize the recognition of their papers. Moreover, we attempt to do our best to support them in their endeavors.

Making the conference's successful held during a pandemic time is due to everyone's collective efforts. We would like to express and record our gratitude and appreciation to the authors for their contributions and the proceedings' publisher: Atlantis Press. Many thanks go as well to all of the reviewers who helped us maintain the high quality of manuscripts—lastly, sincere thanks to the members of the conference committees and organizing team for their hard work.
