Abstract

Character education is the most important asset in human life in shaping one’s character. Character values in the literary work of a novel may be used to shape the character of each individual. The aim of this study is to analyze the values of plot learning in novels Guru Aini by Andrea Hirata. This is the analysis a qualitative study using a descriptive analysis method. Data analysis techniques are carried out through the interpretation of the data, the reading of the data as a whole, the analysis in more detail, the repetition in the narrative and the interpretation or interpretation of the data. The results of this study are the educational character values contained in the novel “Guru Aini” by Andrea Hirata, namely religious, honest, tolerant, disciplined, hard-working, creative, independent, democratic, racial curiosity, national spirit, love of the country, respect for achievement, friendly or communicative, love of peace, love of reading, concern for the environment, concern for society, and responsibility.
