Abstract

The article analyzes some of the current trends of Russian stable comparisons use in sports discourse. The author pays attention to the replenishment of this strata of phraseology, expand the combinability of units, formation of new meanings, changing the connotations of the comparisons in the sports discourse in comparison with the common language connotation. The article describes the most frequent bases for comparisons and used standards.
