Abstract

Social interaction and peer support are indispensable to college students. Based on the data from undergraduate students of Sun Yat-Sen University, this research studies the relationship between college students’ social abilities and the quality of their existing peer relationships. A total of 132 valid data were collected by questionnaires, and the results of bidirectional analyses show that there is a positive correlation between the quality of their peer relationships and social abilities. Finally, this study suggests that college students should exert some social strategies to construct high-quality peer relationships and obtain better peer support, and they should improve their conflict management and emotional support capabilities.
