Abstract

This article discusses the comparative approach and the method of sociological survey to evaluate the role and effectiveness of ecological tourism as the most prospective way of tourism development in the Baikal region. The implementation of which should be an important step contributing to both the economic development of Russia and the preservation of its natural and cultural values. The concept of a comparative approach, the method of sociological survey and a model for evaluation of the role and effectiveness of ecological tourism in the Baikal region are presented.
