We welcome you to the International Webinar on Digital Architecture (IWEDA) 2021. At the end of this year, we mark our milestone of the first IWEDA and Department of Architecture, Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta, proud to be able to host it. Digital Architecture (DA) is not about drawing a building using a computer. It explores, utilizes, and embeds information technology products into the architecture world. The role of digital technology in architecture design started, as most people believe when we applied computer-aided architecture design. Since all the design processes are happening in our brain, a computer is just a tool. A computer is just our added hands. Now, we see digital technology is advancing beyond our imagination. The development of artificial intelligence (and artificial emotion) offers new ways of using computers. Digital computation is comprehensively involved in the architecture design process. A laptop becomes our added brain. This very first IWEDA, the next level, challenges anyone to share their brightest ideas on embedding digital technology into the architecture world. Three main topics: digital architecture education and works, technology development, and digital architecture, The future of Architecture design and research, influenced by digital architecture, are discussed by the speakers, presenters, and participants in these next two days. The 2021 IWEDA has extended its reach beyond representatives of experts, academics, practitioners, and students. The event gathers two keynote speakers, 9-panel speakers, 74 presenters, 69 practitioners, 29 general participants, and 88 student participants, with 271 participants. We wish to thank all the organizing committee members who together make the conference possible. Special thanks goes to our Co-Host: International Building Performance Simulation Association Indonesia (IBPSA-ID, Institut Teknologi Nasional Bandung (ITENAS), UNIKA Soegijapranata Semarang, Universitas 'Aisyiyah Yogyakarta, Universitas Ciputra Surabaya, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, Universitas Trisakti, Universitas Warmadewa, Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia DIY, our Publication Partners: ARTEKS : Jurnal Teknik Arsitektur, Jurnal MODUL, Jurnal RUAS (Review of Urbanism and Architectural Studies), all the submitters and reviewers and Atlantis Press.
