- Abstract
In the era of the internet, Chinese character symbols have shown significant inclusiveness, achieving modern transformation of traditional symbols through deconstruction of character forms and new use of ancient characters. This article takes hot words such as “Dragon walking Dada[龘龘]” and “Jiong” [囧]as samples, and based on the theories of Chinese character construction and semiotics, analyzes the expression of inclusiveness in character form innovation, semantic expansion, and other aspects. It explores the roots from the characteristics of Chinese character pronunciation and meaning, transcending time and space, and compatibility with traditional Chinese culture, and constructs an explanatory model by combining media technology and social psychology. Research has found that the inclusiveness of Chinese characters is the result of the dynamic adaptation of their form meaning system and digital environment, which stems from the structural advantages of “expressing sound and meaning” and the cultural core of “harmony in diversity”, as well as the innovation of technology in symbol production. This study provides theoretical reference for the modern transformation of traditional cultural symbols, as well as new ideas for the standardization of online Chinese characters and cultural dissemination.
