- Abstract
This paper aims to provide a comprehensive report on the progress countries have made on eradicating gender inequality in the workplace by implementing various policies since the previous century. Through focusing on the work done by three major countries – the United States, Switzerland and New Zealand, an overview on the change of the global workplace can be obtained. Using chronological order of the policies, the research aims to outline the contrast of the past and present, as well as the effectiveness of each policy. Finally, recommendations will be provided on how to further eliminate gender inequality in the future. It is discovered that the degree of sexual discrimination in the workplace has drastically decreased since the previous decades. However, the gender pay gap persists and more efforts are needed to further diminish it in the future. This research poses as a milestone on the current progress made to achieve gender equality, and it is essential to scrutinise the trend on this issue meticulously in the future in order to compare the progress to the current status using this article.
