Managing Teacher Educator To Improve Professional Teacher

The success of professional teacher preparation depends on teacher educator management so this study aims to describe teacher educator management in the teacher profession education within the context of implementation Personal Management Principles. Qualitative approach was used in this study completed in 6 teacher educators within deep interview and observation. Data were analyzed through inductive interactive model. The findings showed that: (1) the planning based on criteria that the teacher has been created by the government by looking at the needs, the criteria are: has master's degree or doctorate that is both or one of them based on education, preferably having the certificate of expertise, has Lektor functional position, has the ability to set, implement, and evaluate teaching learning process, and able to do nurturing. Even though, there are several additional non-professional criteria that determined the assignment of teacher educators; (2) the organizing; teacher educators are divided into teams that responsible for Subject Specific Pedagogy workshop and internship program for teacher candidate. The main problem is the teacher educator has another responsibilities for teaching regular classes; (3) the actuating; teacher educator is trained about the curriculum and teaching process; otherwise, a predetermined schedule collides with a regular schedule, and (4) the controlling; the monitoring and evaluation is only done in general which is not been specific to the teacher educator management. That is a reason why this program needs significant improvements in order to the programs can create professional teacher.
