Abstract

Since modern times, traditional handicrafts seem to have fallen into the predicament of breaking between the past and the future, and being at a loss in the present. The mechanized production since the Industrial Revolution has made traditional handicraft paper and other handicraft industries decline day by day. As a carrier of continuing civilization, traditional handmade paper is faced with the problem of inheritance and development under the current situation of rapid development of science and technology, and the traditional culture it carries is gradually forgotten by the people. Therefore, this paper will trace and excavate the cultural connotation of traditional Chinese hand-made paper, and explore the high emotional value of traditional hand-made paper in modern life that bridges the development of industry and technology from the perspective of artistic creation and practice. At the same time, the article aims to explore the return and innovation of the traditional handmade papermaking that has returned to the past and created the present by combining theory with practice, showing the traditional cultural charm carried by handmade paper.
