- Abstract
The article analyzes the value of “nghia tinh” (mutuality and sentiment) as a distinctive moral and cultural norm of the Vietnamese people, formed and developed throughout the history of building and defending the nation.
Based on a synthesis of studies in culturology, sociology, and policy, the paper asserts that “nghia tinh” is both a traditional cultural value and a norm of social behavior, with manifestations such as gratitude, filial piety, faithfulness, tolerance, empathy, and sharing.
From an interdisciplinary perspective, the article also points out the limitations of the value of “nghia tin” in the modern context and proposes a direction for developing it as a moral and social capacity, adaptable to the norms of the rule of law and globalization.
Therefore, it is necessary to reposition “nghia tinh” not only as a cultural value but also as a soft resource for sustainable social development in the era of integration.
