Abstract

The classical guitar, though structurally simple, demands exceptional subtlety to produce a refined sound. Therefore, this paper proposes applying the principle of “resolution”, a term originally rooted in imaging and digital technology, as both a metaphor and a pedagogical framework in classical guitar training. Focusing on the methods of Vietnamese guitarists Châu Đăng Khoa and Bùi Thế Dũng, the study illustrates how cultivating high-resolution awareness in practice, akin to enhancing pixel density in a digital image, can sharpen a guitarist’s ability to analyze musical material in fine detail. Through selected case studies in famous pieces and etudes, the article argues that this resolution-based approach promotes the development of analytical listening, precise motor control, and interpretive sensitivity. By bridging music pedagogy with cognitive and aesthetic dimensions, the study highlights how interdisciplinary concepts can enrich the training of classical guitarists and support sustainable artistic growth at a granular level.
