Abstract

This paper focuses on the practical promotion of the Orff Music Teaching Method in music education at rural primary schools. With “elemental music education” as the core theoretical framework and combined with the localized case of No. 2 Primary School of Siyan Town, Ya’an, Sichuan, it explores the method’s adaptive value and implementation paths. The study finds that this teaching method, characterized by low cost and emphasis on participation, can effectively address the dilemmas of insufficient resources and monotonous teaching forms in rural primary school music education. For example, by developing daily-life teaching aids and integrating local culture with emotional education, No. 2 Primary School of Siyan Town, Ya’an increased students’ classroom participation rate from 40% to 95%, and many of its students’ works won municipal-level awards. However, the promotion still faces practical challenges such as inadequate hardware facilities and a shortage of full-time teachers. Accordingly, this paper proposes countermeasures from three dimensions: constructing a low-cost resource supply system, establishing a hierarchical teacher training mechanism, and optimizing the educational ecology and evaluation system, so as to provide references for improving the rural music education system and promoting the balanced and high-quality development of aesthetic education in the compulsory education stage.
