- Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of the “Micro-Lecture” training model in enhancing intercultural sensitivity among undergraduate nursing freshmen. Methods: Using a purposive sampling method, this study recruited first-year undergraduate nursing students from a university in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, who had participated in a micro-lecture-based intercultural training program. The Intercultural Sensitivity Scale for Nursing Students was employed for data collection, and data were analyzed using SPSS 19.0 software. Results: The total intercultural sensitivity score of the nursing freshmen was 95.95 ± 23.42. Among the dimensions, the score for intercultural interaction was the highest, while the score for cultural awareness was the lowest. Scores in cultural understanding and educational background fell within a moderate range, with certain individual differences observed among participants. Conclusion: The “Micro-Lecture” training model may contribute to enhancing the intercultural sensitivity of nursing freshmen.
