Abstract

In the digital era and against the backdrop of educational informatization strategies, this study focuses on the integration of information technology and mathematics teaching, aiming to innovate traditional mathematics teaching models and enhance teaching quality. Firstly, it elaborates on the diverse scenarios in which information technology is applied to mathematics teaching, including pre-class guidance, multimedia presentation in the classroom, assistance from mathematical software, and distance teaching, which have achieved results in optimizing teaching methods and improving teaching efficiency. Then, it provides a detailed analysis of specific application forms such as multimedia teaching, mathematical software and platforms like Geometer's Sketchpad, and augmented reality technology. Furthermore, it summarizes their significant advantages in stimulating students’ interest in learning, enhancing learning outcomes, and cultivating comprehensive abilities. Simultaneously, the study also points out current challenges such as insufficient information technology literacy among teachers, uneven quality of teaching resources, significant differences in students’ autonomous learning abilities, and technology dependence leading to teaching deviating from its essence. It proposes targeted strategies such as systematic training, resource optimization, ability cultivation, and balancing the relationship between technology and teaching to address these challenges.
