Abstract

In the 21st century, ever increasing energy and environmental problems such as pollution, fossil fuel depletion and global warming are ringing the alarm bell to human society. Therefore, clean and renewable energy materials as well as their devices are urgently demanded. In this paper we first give the definition of environmental sustainability then the forms of energy sources and its sustainability and environmental impact are discussed. Finally the main characteristics of hydrogen storage as well as carbon materials and solar energy materials are expounded.
