- Abstract
Self-efficacy is a key construct in educational psychology because it relates to students’ beliefs about their ability to learn, manage emotions, and adapt in school. This study aims to examine the conceptual characteristics of self-efficacy among elementary school students, the forms of intervention or educational contexts associated with it, and its implications for character education. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) design following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Articles were retrieved from Scopus for the period 2016–2026, and 11 articles meeting the inclusion criteria were analyzed. The results of the review indicate that self-efficacy in elementary school students manifests in physical, academic, emotional, and moral-prosocial dimensions. The findings also suggest that self-efficacy is more frequently present as part of broader development rather than as the primary target of interventions. Overall, self-efficacy has strong relevance to self-regulation, well-being, prosocial behavior, and character education in elementary school students.
