Abstract

A coral reef is one of the essential components of the oceans. In addition to being a beautiful view of the sea, coral reefs are a very important role in maintaining the viability of fish or marine life. But if the coral reefs are no longer functioning as it should be, then there should be the action that needs to be done to save the coral reefs is still there. In addition to the discourse that has been created for the development of marine national parks to maintain the sustainability of coral reef, coral reef introduction to children may also be one of the solutions to keep coral reefs. The study focused on how coral reefs function for the people of the village of Sumenep Regency Ra'as Subdistrict Ketupat, as well as how the introduction of coral reefs to the kids can maintain the existence of the coral reefs in the village of Ketupat Ra'as Subdistrict Sumenep Regency. The research method used is descriptive, qualitative data collection techniques done with observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the coral reefs are located in the village of Ketupat Ra'as Subdistrict Sumenep Regency lot made the Foundation of the building, as well as the introduction of coral reefs to the children, can be one solution to keep coral reefs the village of Ketupat Sumenep Regency Ra'as Subdistrict in the future. The introduction of coral reefs to children are also expected to change the mindset of the next generation to be able to search for other alternatives in addition to the coral reefs as building foundations.
