Abstract

This work is a tribute to the musical heritage of Assam that showcases an automated system for the classification of the regional Assamese songs of the state by the use of machine learning techniques beyond the traditional ones. By using KNN and MLT, which uses advanced audio feature extraction methods like Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCCs) and spectrograms, to classify Assamese songs into music genres such as Bihu, Kamrupiya Lokageet, Goalporiya Lokageet, Borgeet, and Naam. This initiative is an endeavor to take over the situation where challenges faced due to modernization and globalization are the causes of the destruction of such melodious music.

Besides that, the digital archive of the cultural wealth of Assam acts as a bridge to connect with the residents of the world to raise awareness of intercultural appreciation and research. Technological advancements have indeed become a mighty force in the preservation and promotion of cultural and musical traditions. To name one, this repository is a necessary source of healing for scholars and educators, empathy and cultural sensitivity for diagnosis
